  now today this is of course a non-issue.

  the wt has embraced the big bang/old earth etc just not evolution.

  in fact the creator book has some decent info.. however i have a good copy of the 1958 paradise book.

  i was six, not given any choice.

  i remember being in the old kh, and my dad told me the brothers wanted to talk to me in the back...i was terrified.

  i actually thought they knew i didn’t want to be a dub, my dad told them to just add me as a publisher, so no back room meeting.

  i was about 12 when i started going "on the doors". often on my own--especially tuesday evenings before the book study.

  imagine...a 12 year old kid..out door knocking..tuesday evening...in the dark..in HANDSWORTH.....!

  but that was 60 years ago..things have changed.

  i have a niece who is trying to get pregnant.

  she was telling me her husband had to go to a room with porn in it and masturbate into a cup to get tested.

  i never thought of this before but but how would a jw handle this.

  It's Shark Week on TV ... anybody watching the shows?

  with the virus thing going on, there's more tv time here in the rub a dub household.. watching jaws for the 20th time still is fun.

  then all the killer stingray, whales and other sea creatures is interesting.. we watched moby's dick last night.

  it's an old classic like jaws.

  i saw Jaws when it first came out. i was living on the seafront on the isle of Wight UK at the time. i never went in the sea again that year.

  but one i remember was a full on dyed in the wool believer how was a farmer.

  around 1975 he sold his farm moved his family to a very rural place and waited for the end to come.

  he ended up working for his brother in law hanging drywall.

  here in the UK i get the state pension. i can live on it. no complaints. i count myself fortunate in getting it. throughout my working life i never paid into a works pension scheme, and couldnt afford a private one.

  fortunately for me--my old JW dad held a good job with benefits--and had bought his own home. on his death i was his sole beneficiary. so i have a comfortable home.

  Memories of Grace Gough

  hi everyone;i'm not on here too much anymore, but i've been asked to write a brief biography of our dear grace gough ('mouthy' on here).

  i'm writing my own memories of her but it was also suggested that i maybe contact others who knew her to see if they had a nice memory or two of her they'd like to share.

  it would only have to be a paragraph or two and your name can be kept confidential if you like.
